Just had 30 days of successful Veeam backups. We tell them this is the spec you told us to do, and then some. They say we need more RAM than our current Windows licensing can handle. We are facing a complete rebuild. I get the feeling that most of it is poorly understood and that they are following scripts. Agent updates are frequent. Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 Update 2 has full vSphere 6.5 Update 1 support, free NFR also available for Veeam Agent for Windows, Linux, and Backup for MS Office 365.
Thanks for reaching out here. I haven't seen this question for some time, assumed everyone was convinced in Endpoint already:) Answering your questions, I'd rather refer to this blog post: https://tinkertry.com/feature-and-performance-comparison-between-windows-server-2012-r2-essentials-a... Note: An article is a bit outdated as we have released 3 newer product versions where worked on some limitations and new functionality, but will allow you to grasp the general differences between products. Don't forget to read comments.
Either way, it's always better to try things yourself, especially since both products are free. Go ahead and test them both in your environment.
